Over the past few years I've grown frustrated with the quality of music that passes as rock. When I was in high school the bands that I listened to weren't concerned whether or not their mascara was running, they just put out good music.
Often when I'm in the mood to hear these bands again I turn to the Youtube. I figured I'm not the only one who is frustrated with the state of the music that gets played in 30 minute blocks on MTV so, I figured I'd post some of what I feel were some of the defining rock songs and videos from the 1990s.
Oasis-Wonderwall. This list wouldn't be complete with out the self proclaimed greatest rock band led by the brothers Gallagher. Arguably one of the biggest songs of 1995 and Oasis's only top 10 song here in the U.S.
Local H-Bound to the floor. The duo from Illinois struck gold in 1996 with this single.
Because no list would be complete with out it, Metallica's Enter Sandman.
Guns N Roses epic video for November Rain.
The recently reunited STP debuted this song on MTV Unplugged, the song also appeared in The Crow movie staring the late Brandon Lee. To this day it's My favorite STP song.
